Dr. P. Umapathi Reddy holds a strong academic background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, having earned his degree from Andhra University, an M.Tech. from JNTUA Anantapur, and a Ph.D. from JNTUK Kakinada. His doctoral research focused on loss minimization in unbalanced radial distribution systems using advanced optimization techniques, reflecting his deep commitment to addressing real-world challenges in power systems.

His areas of academic and research interest include power systems, renewable energy, electric vehicles, optimization techniques, FACTS, and IoT applications in power systems. He has successfully guided two Ph.D. scholars to completion, with five more currently pursuing research under his supervision.

Dr. Reddy has made significant academic contributions with around 60 research publications in reputed national and international journals. He has also actively participated in conferences, workshops, and funded academic programs.

With over 25 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, he has served in key leadership roles such as Professor, Head of the Department, Vice Principal, and Controller of Examinations. His administrative experience includes active involvement in NBA and NAAC accreditation processes, curriculum development, Board of Studies activities, and quality enhancement initiatives.

He is a Life Member of MISTE and MISCA and serves as a Selection Committee Member for PRISM (Promoting Innovations in Individuals, Startups, and MSMEs) under the Government of India, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (Women’s University), Tirupati.
